Could this be causing my computer to run very, very slow and other issues?

My daughter and myself download lots of short clips to watch on our computer. I say download, Im night a computer guy so Im not sure about the technology. I mean we click on it and watch it. We dont save it permanetly on the computer, atleast not on purpose. When you do that, is it saving it to the computer somewhere? I have spyware and virus protection but, it still runs slow and its new. It didnt start running slow until after we watched a bunch of short little video clips? Please help.

Try scanning again with Spybot and your AV program. Downloading files also tends to accumulate temp files, internet cache etc which need to be cleared from time to time using CCleaner or DiskCLeanup.

How long since you ran a defrag?Fragmentation is a disease which debilitates drive and PC performance in general.

it depends on the browser you use and when you use mozilla it

automatically downloads it, but check where its set to download , then find it and delete it, it must have a virus.
Everything that appears on your monitor, is downloaded to your hard drive, even on just a temporary basis. Perhaps your Temporary Internet Files (TIF) are full. Try deleting them. The procedure will vary depending on what browser that you use.
you have spyware on your computer. Get a better anti-virus, I suggest NOD32 its very good and doesn't slow down your computer. Also if your downloading alot of stuff like that I would even go the extra step and find a really good spyware/adware remover program that also blocks those programs. Also you probably need to run a disk clean and defrag and make sure on the disk clean to check the box for both types of temp files. That is where your computer saves them. You find disk clean and defrag under start%26gt;all programs%26gt;accessories%26gt;system tools
One way to make your computer run faster is to go to control panel.

Go into internet options and click on delete all cookies and temporary internet files.
