McCanns: what connection do Kate and Gerry have with Anglican priest Rev Haynes Hubbard ?

We read that Anglican Reverand Haynes Hubbard, the senior chaplain of St Vincent's Anglican Chaplaincy, just happened to arrive (from Canada) in Praia da Luz 3 days after Madeleine McCann went missing. While the local Catholic Priest Roman Catholic Father Jose Manuel Pacheco was described later as being left a 'wreck' after meeting the McCanns, Father Hubbard set about acting as a media mouthpiece for the church with the press.

Hubbard told the press that he believed it to be ''ridiculous'' to imagine that the church could be used to conceal anything in the Madeleine case, and reinforced the abduction theory by saying ''Some evil happened in this community which isn't reflective of the community at all. Evil has been perpetrated and Madeleine has been taken'' He continues decribe himself as a ''part of the family'' to the McCanns.

Was Rev Hubbard sent into Portugal to 'protect' the McCanns ? or was his arrival just co-incidence ?

I do believe in the power of prayer.

However, If my child was lost, I would look for her.

Look - for - her !

Somehow, I would feel that to be more useful. On the other hand, between that and playing tennis, praying is sort of ok.

But nothing compares to helping the police.
