How do i remove a trojan horse from my computer?

i have windows xp,mozzilla firefox,and avg virus protection program.i have tried healing the infected objects but it says i cant.i have 3 corrupted files.i have also tried system restore and anything else i could think of but it is still there.will someone please tell me in a simple way(not very computer smart)how to get rid of this once and for all?

first of all remove avg antivirus and install kaspersky or mcafee antivirus..or go with avg professional edition..then update it with the latest defination updates..then run a full system scan..it'll remove all the trojan and keep ur system free from trojan/virus all all types of virus..

Use some other software. Norton, Avast are free antivirus software. Ad-aware, Spybot, Ewido are free spyware removers.
